S\u00e3o autorretratos feitos em nome de todos. Retratam o ser humano, na sua constante procura de algo, numa pris\u00e3o constru\u00edda por ele pr\u00f3prio: o mundo exterior a cada um de n\u00f3s. Todos vestimos uma capa; inerente a n\u00f3s, aprisiona-nos \u00e0 realidade imposta por todos e por ningu\u00e9m. Por ser inerente, torna-se invis\u00edvel, deixando apenas que a sua presen\u00e7a se sinta. Todos procuramos algo, raramente concreto, sequer palp\u00e1vel ou mesmo consciente. Todos procuramos e quase nunca nos apercebemos do que encontramos e quando, porque n\u00e3o sabemos bem o que queremos encontrar. Os que menos procura, s\u00e3o os que mais se resignam \u00e0 capa que vestem, n\u00e3o a despem por falta de for\u00e7a. Resignam-se e vivem no seu pequeno mundo, rodeado por um outro mundo que lhes \u00e9 quase desconhecido, mas que determina e rege as suas vidas. Neles, a capa \u00e9 praticamente uma pele, que se for removida provoca ferida e pode at\u00e9 matar. Os que sentem mais esta capa s\u00e3o os que mais se sentem presos numa gaiola e sabem que t\u00eam asas demasiado fortes e belas para n\u00e3o serem utilizadas. Procuram constantemente um modo de escapar \u00e0 gaiola, para poderem voar e aproveitar assim as asas com que nasceram. Poucos s\u00e3o os que t\u00eam consci\u00eancia desta capa e, menos ainda, aqueles que a conseguem despir. Seremos robots num mundo que n\u00e3o escolhemos? Mas \u00e9 nele que temos de aprender a viver. S\u00f3 assim conseguiremos voar\u2026<\/p>\n\n\n\n

These are self-portraits made on behalf of everyone. They portray the human being in their constant search for something, in a prison built by themselves: the world outside each of us. We all wear a cloak; inherent to us, it imprisons us in the reality imposed by everyone and by no one. Because it is inherent, it becomes invisible, allowing only its presence to be felt. We all seek something, rarely concrete, not even tangible or even conscious. We all search and almost never realize what we find and when, because we don’t really know what we want to find. Those who search the least are the ones who resign themselves most to the cloak they wear, they don’t take it off for lack of strength. They resign themselves and live in their small world, surrounded by another world that is almost unknown to them, but which determines and governs their lives. In them, the cloak is practically a skin, which, if removed, causes wounds and can even kill. Those who feel this cloak most are the ones who feel most trapped in a cage and know that they have wings too strong and beautiful not to be used. They constantly seek a way to escape the cage, to be able to fly and thus take advantage of the wings they were born with. Few are aware of this covering, and even fewer are those who manage to shed it. Are we robots in a world we didn’t choose? But it is in this world that we must learn to live.
